Explore beautiful Barcelona on a budget, all it takes is one little card!
The card is activated on the first use, so there’s no need to worry about the card expiring before you arrive in Barcelona.
Using the Barcelona Card is quite easy: the card is activated the first time you use it, for example on public transport or at the entrance of one of the participating attractions. Keep in mind that the card is valid for consecutive days, not 24-hour periods. For example, a 5-Day Barcelona Card activated on Monday at noon will expire on Friday at midnight.
Public transport
Once activated, simply tap your Barcelona Card whenever you board public transport. The card covers the TMB metro, bus and tram network, the FGC and Renfe Rodalies trains within zone 1, the Montjuïc funicular, and the airport train – everything you need to zip around the city. The one exception: night buses are not included, so plan a daytime ride if you’re heading back late.
Museums and free-entry venues
At museums and free-entry venues, simply show or scan the card at the entrance. You get one free entry per location during the card’s validity period – great for first-time visitors looking to check off the city’s must-see sights without piling up ticket queues.
Partner attractions for discounts
For partnered attractions that offer a discount rather than free entry (Casa Batlló, La Pedrera, L’Aquàrium and more), simply present the card at the ticket counter to claim the deal. Discounts vary by venue and cannot be combined with other promotions or offers.
Now go take the Barcelona Card challenge and see how many of Barcelona’s icons you can hit before the card expires!
